Spot-Winged Comb Jelly - Scuba Diving in Cozumel

Показать описание
I'm often asked what type of jellyfish this particular creature is and if it will sting if we touch it. This is actually a spot-winged comb jelly and while they may look similar, they're not all that closely related to jellyfish at all!
Comb jellies are more closely related to plankton and will not sting. they lack the stinging cells, called nematocysts, that most jellyfish have.
Of course, they are delicate, so please don't touch!
