How To Fit New Body / Shell to Land Rover Keyfob Remote Using Genuine Parts to fix repair

Показать описание
In this video we fit a new keyfob and remote battery to the Land Rover remote control keyfob. The bodies are available to buy as an empty "shell" and you can swap all the internals over from you old keyfob to a new item. Ideal if your buttons are worn or damaged etc.
These remote controls are used on many Land Rover models including Range Rover Evoque / Freelander 2 / Range Rover Sport / Range Rover L405 etc.

Really helpful video, thank you very much - followed stage by stage to change my old for new F2 fob. Would have really struggled without your clear instructions!

I don’t think you need the superglue or the soldering iron to secure the PCB in the new case - my new case had a pad of foam in the back that secured the PCB on the pins when the case was assembled. I changed my case about 8 months ago with no issues (although with Covid, it hasn’t been used as much as normal ☹️). Thanks for doing this video.

Very useful, I followed your instructions step by step (didn’t use glue though) and it worked out perfectly fine. Thank you!

Really useful video Simon. The hard bit is definitely getting the circuit board off the black pins. I managed to grab the ends with needle nose pliers and twist them off...

Good work...do you do new metal slide bits though? An “Autobiography” one would be good or one marked “PowerfulUK” might be better!! 😎😎😎😎...there you are, another job in satin finished alloy lookalike stuff!! 😃😃😃Richard

I don't understand why you have to glue/hot melt it in. Surely once the other half is in place it can't move?

I had a shot every time you said “right”, I think I’ve damaged my liver 🤣

After several attempts, I was able to free-up the circuit board from the case. I would not be able to do it without you guys. Thanks 😀

If you don't want to buy new tools, I think you will find that nail clippers may work nicely to snip the top off the posts.

I have a 2010 L322, which has none of these particular key fobs. Is there another video for those? Thanks again.

I bought a 2011 Range Rover HSE and have had it for years, but my battery died, and I can't seem to find where to buy the key "blade" part of the key fob to even get into my vehicle. I have the key fob itself; I'm just missing the manual blade. Land Rover says they are on backorder. I ordered one three months ago, and they still haven't processed the order for the key blade. Would you happen to have any suggestions?

If you use super glue you will Never get that off again without breaking the circuit board or the remote body pins

No need to use glue.
Also you maybe pleased to know the big fat key the early discovery 4s had, that was the same as the 2010-11 RRS and the 2009-2012 l322, you can remove the enternals from those and fit them in these new type keys with just a small bit of nail filling the corner of the circuit board.

Whew... you had me worried when you were trying to cut the plastic tab when there is an IC right in your path if the blade slipped or cut through...
