I am Rhea.
An ancient Titaness.
Wife of Cronus.
Mother of the Gods.

My mother Gaia gave Cronus a prophecy.
“As you overthrew your father Uranus,
Your child will overthrow you.”

From that day on,
Cronus swallowed my children
As soon as they were born.

Hestia.
Demeter.
Hera.
Hades.
Poseidon.

In secret,
I spent my nights in tears.

Eventually,
I asked my mother Gaia for help.

She said,
“Hide the sixth child, Zeus.
Only he can save them all.”

I wrapped a stone in cloth
And tricked Cronus.
He swallowed the stone
Instead of Zeus.

I hid Zeus
In a deep cave on the island of Crete.
Every night,
I raised him in secret.

Nymphs fed him.
The Curetes clashed their shields
To cover his cries.

When he grew up,
I told him the truth.

“Your siblings
Are alive inside your father.”

Zeus made a promise
To rescue his siblings
And defeat Cronus with me.

With the goddess of wisdom, Metis,
I made a potion.
We mixed it into wine
And fooled Cronus.

Cronus drank the wine.
Moments later,
His body twisted
And he threw up my children
Along with the stone.

From that day on,
The Titanomachy began.
My children fought the Titans
For ten long years.

And at last,
They won.

After that,
Cronus was cast into Tartarus,
The deepest prison.

And a new era began.
