Thanks Brijesh. Info is very helpful. Windows user just run bin>zkServer command. start-foreground is not required.

very well explained, just wanted to add one more info that if we are going to run it on windows we need to use corresponding .bat files, which are present inside windows folder created when installing kafka server

i have seen zookeeper inside of a kafka folder in the window directory .So why do we need to have a seperate zookeeper folder
