It is evident that our world is hurtling quickly towards a climate danger zone. Projected global emissions despite the world’s national pledges have already led to an increase of over 1.1°C since pre-industrial times. Given that the 1.5°C threshold is projected to be breached in the near future, the G20 nations have a responsibility to commit to effective, quick-action strategies deploying CO2 and non-CO2 mitigation – the only pathway to slowing warming and securing the future.

In this context, TERI, along with IGSD, is hosting a high-level dialogue between key members of the G20 titled ‘G20 in Action: How collective effort drives development and keeps 1.5 degree C target within reach.’

This event aims to provide a platform for a meaningful discussion on – an important next step – that will help carve out a pathway for countries, multi-laterals, private sector players, and non-government agencies towards building a sustainable future for all.
