Easter Regatta 2016 in Mauritius | Wildwind Adventures

See what the sailing in Mauritius is really like with some great footage of our Wildwind Easter Regatta. The event was sponsored by Red Bull.

Wildwind guests from Germany, England, Holland, Austria, Hungary, Portugal and Egypt were among the sailors participating in the regatta along with local sailors.

In the Laser class, 17 boats were entered in total, 12 of them being ambitious, young, local Mauritian sailors, some already with experience of international racing. The fight for first place was tough over the 4 races but the Mauritian sailors won the day with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

The catamaran class was also a tightly fought race. 1st place was taken by the Mauritian team of Danny Ramaswami / Loic Edouard; in 2nd place was Wildwind Beach Manager Rick Catherine with his Mauritian crew Nelly; 3rd place was the Mauritian / Egyptian team of Richard Munisamy and Sam Riley; followed by the 4th place Hungarian / German team of Andrea Illyevölgyi / Frauke Kukla.
