4:55 Phillip Norris bass solo was 🔥 imo the greatest jazz bassist of this era. Not to take away anything from the others, but he's got style

I once heard Bill Evans playing an upright in the rug department of a West Side Sterns Department store in Manhattan. It was clear that the brilliance was the pianist, not the piano. He sounded like himself and that piano was as far from a Bosendorfer as you could get. Also rugs were hung around the piano space.
