Hi Paula, just came upon you recently and want to confirm what you've shared in this post. I will be 73 in a couple of months. I had my first novel published the year I turned 70. I started, or restarted oil painting about 19 months ago. I've sold four paintings at fair market value. I really don't care what others think - the act of creating is oxygen to me. I love moving from writing to painting. I'm now writing a play which I've done before but I have way more to say now. I’ll be back!

Thank you Paula, I think so many people need to hear this! I came back to painting after many, many years and it felt so good. It was like coming home. First I finished a painting that I had started in 1998 and I gave it the title "many years have passed". I'm 69 now and I plan to keep painting for my own sake if nothing else.

I am 39 and turning 40 later this year. I am just learning how to create art now, but I am so much more confident in my ability to learn now compared to even 1 or 2 years ago. Something has shifted, and I think now is the perfect time to get started. Maybe for someone who is 50, 60, 70, 80, or even someone in their 90s, now is the perfect time for you too. It’s never too late! My mother-in-law is 92 and she still enjoys learning new things.

😊Thank you YouTube for recommending this video on my Home screen. I'm in my early 40's and in the beginning of my art journey. Navigating what I want to do, juggling single parenthood (4 kids) and trying to figure out how to grow this into a business. Oh and...getting my YouTube channel off the ground...just looking for other people who are in a somewhat same boat and connecting with other artists has been so inspiring and helpful. 🌟New subscriber 🌟 for your channel and I'll be following your journey, hoping to learn a thing or two. 💚❤💙

Hi Paula - just came across your video today and it’s just what I needed to hear. I’ve recently rekindled my creative practice after a hiatus of close to 20 years. I’ve started posting my art slowly. I’m still sad I waited so long to find my art again but I can also see that my life experience has given me a stronger foundation for the business side of staring my own business that there’s no way I would have had if I were younger. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos! ❤

Awww I’m so glad I found you Paula and I could listen to your voice for hours! I’ve recently rekindled my channel and looking to do the same. I love sharing my process and talking about my challenges. I am yet to start talking a bit more about myself but I guess that will come in time. Thanks for making that step. You’ve inspired me to create a similar kind of video 🙏🏾🧡

Hi Paula,
I am Maud, from France. I am " only" 41 😅 but I feel so much connections and support in your message. Life leads me far from art, I am currently a primary school teacher with two young kids. It was a raisonnable choice to make a living and I often feel that it's too late to start my art career, but it's so depressing to live without art ! So I am glad I find your Channel 😊

Thank you Paula. 56 and hoping the party isn’t closed for older artists coming late in the game. I hear you, but find social media daunting. X

Hi Paula, I am so happy to have stumbled upon your video. I am 58 and have just started to share my art. You shared many words of wisdom but the one that resonated with me was ‘just start’. I decided to do just that and have found such a supportive community of artists. A small community but such a wonderful feeling to be part of. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing and hearing more from you xxx

Been trying to get past a couple roadblocks lately. I don't necessarily have a fear of sharing but for some reason I feel like I have some bar to get over before the content is "good enough" to share. YouTube is especially hard for me because although I just want to turn on the camera and start sharing, I feel like I need a script or to have some level of editing or...all the excuses mount up and stop me from growing my community. Thanks for the advice and support!

This beautiful message is what I needed to hear today. 😊 I am fairly new to painting and have photographed landscapes for some time. Recently I was blessed with the opportunity to display my paintings and photos in an artist cooperative but am struggling to bring interest to my work from visitors. Your words about gaining traction over time resonates with me. Thank you for giving me a new perspective about the process. With my inspiration waning, it is wonderful to hear some positive examples of why I should keep striving.

You don't have to be a techie or young, but you need to have motivation and focus. I have ADHD, and the struggle is real, despite the medication. I wish so much I could organize myself to consistently show up in my studio, create an Instagram or YouTube account, and stick with it. I don't think I have a fear of failure regarding my painting, I have a fear that I won't be able to stick with it.
