Sortilège - Sortilège (From the 12-inch Vinyl Mini-Album, 1983)

Arguably one of the best of the French heavy metal bands of the mid-80's, Sortilège mixed a strong Iron Maiden / Judas Priest songwriting style with clear, quality vocals courtesy of Christian Augustin. Their overall sound wasn't radically different than other bands (French or otherwise) of the period, but what they did do, they did well. Regarded by many as a cult band of the French scene, the group ceased to exist in 1986.
