Great video, thanks for checking out Windsurf! It's my daily driver and I have ALWAYS had a problem with cursor since it came out so it was really neat to see my own favorite featured :) Windsurf just always seemed to "work" better. Although you may have some challenges with MCP as I believe it works a bit different. May be an entire video all on it's own.

My own time playing with cursor and lovable, I also had cursor produce lots of errors and having to fix a lot of things and the end result was not that great. Talking with engineers using cursor they tell me cursor works best when fed lots of very detailed documentation. Lovable on the other hand worked great but one thing I noticed is that it seems to use a lot of similar designs and components. So if you make a few sites they all kind of look similar. But this could be because of not defining the UI component library etc. Something to play with in the future.

Never use a thinking model when initially writing code, they are best suited for troubleshooting and architectural stuff

The problem with all of these tools for vibe coders, they all make great basic pages, as soon as you get a bit complicated they get confused and start breaking things and/or wasting most of your credits

it would be interesting to do the same style of project but use Cursor with different models. ultimately its not the product that's doing the code, its the model. so if you use 3.7 thinking on 3 different applications that are full code interactive you should get 3 very similar results. not really a surprise.

However using 3.5, 3.7, 3.7 max. then maybe Deepseek, GPT 4.5 and a free one like Ollama. see what the differences are and see which can get it right in a single hit

Your first results thru cursor is what I’ve encountered using Claude Code thru Terminal. It wouldn’t connect the dots for the styles, so it looked like a basic single-stream page with minimal content from 2004 lol. Had to use external tools to get everything connected properly.
