Piano Techniques for Modern Music is a series of 26 videos where you’ll learn the fundamental techniques that will help you become a proficient piano player. Berklee Online instructor Zahili Gonzalez Zamora will help you achieve that, starting from point zero, and provide important piano insights on the basic principles of posture, movement, finger independence, and breathing. You’ll also learn the C scale and different chord progressions to improvise over, along with tips and tricks for piano practice. The goal of the 26 videos in this course is for you to integrate all of the lessons together, and once you’re comfortable with them, you can use them to play piano with more efficiency and create dynamic range, as well as preventing muscular strain that comes along with playing the piano.
ABOUT ZAHILI GONZALEZ ZAMORA
Zahili Gonzalez Zamora is a pianist, composer, bandleader, arranger, and educator. Born in Manzanillo, Cuba, she started playing piano at the age of six and graduated from the National School of Music with a performance degree. Her Afro-Cuban jazz trio, MIXCLA, has headlined venues and festivals around the world, including the Montreal International Jazz Festival. In addition to this Piano Techniques for Modern Music course, Zahili co-authored Piano Technique 101 for Berklee Online.
