It's been 10-15 years till he played it...even the cricket was so vast for batters now... different shots are made...but no one could ever replicate that shot by dilshan till...no one can it till now... it's just so rare to see such unique shot to be played in cricket without seeing the bowl coming to you at more than 150+ kmph... paddle sweep sweep scoop all are seeing till last moment but dilshan played it just with the prediction that he will connect it for sure! It doesn't matter whether they know the name or not (although they probably should) it was an awesome shot. I couldn't give a shit what the commentators call it. This shot is much harder to play than the ramp shot which is still an amazing shot.

What you saw was Dilshan's trademark shot, the Dilscoop - a shot developed by him in 2009. There is no stupidity involved. It's a lot skill, a lot of practice, and a lot of balls. The only stupidity here came from inside the commentary box.

Dilshan's shot puts him in harm's way. One man's bravery is another man's stupidity. I'm no fan of the Australian commentators, but reading racism into it is just *looking* for racism.
