Just watched Sir Chris Hoy on the BBC and would just like to say a big thank you, what an absolute inspiration to everyone . I am so sorry to hear of your diagnosis but the way you appear to be dealing with it is INSIRATIONAL my thoughts are with you and your family at this incredibly difficult time and i wish you all good health for as long as possible. I've not even received appropriate care for fully diagnosed conditions, never mind asking for preventive healthcare. In the UK you have to be able to afford preventive care privately, otherwise there's no chance.

I cannot understand if Mr Hoys father and grand father had prostate cancer WHY didn't alarm bells ring in his head? For him to inform his GP for early testing when he got to 40 years old? Or why didn't any of the Olympic Doctors advise him? It must have been documented whilst he was unfer the GB Olympic team he was a professional sports person?
I have prostate cancer stage 4 my doctor missed the signs for over 8 years 2011 when i realized i was peeing 16 times per night! Im in the same boat as Mr Hoy my cancer is going to kill me in 2025 ( i will have had prostate cancer stage 4 Gleason 9 aggressive cancer) I have always had Faith so i just accepted my cancer from day one, no tears or feeling sorry for myself i can accept death because ive had a Fantastic Live i accept death with good Grace and Dignity! Im an old style guy born inn1963 i dont fold and cry because im not made that way! My PSA reading right now 5/12/24 is 1015 i not having any treatment at all i want quality of life not chemo and all those crazy drugs which chemically castrate you FACT!
