Can't believe Dominic isn't even on this list.
His backhand is very unconventional yet powerful and steady.

Totally agree with Stan W as best ever.

Stefan Edberg had an amazing bh. He could do almost anything with the ball. Slice, top spin, flat, and the #1 backhand volley. He was like a cat covering the net with his athleticism

Stefan Edberg's Volley was SO good that his backhand on the baseline is so underrated.

Justine Henin should receive honorable mention. Yes she’s on the WTA side so it won’t be quite as powerful and effective as the guys but her technique was nearly flawless and it’s not only extremely effective & powerful but it was probably the most beautiful one handed ever.

Justine Henins one hander was great as well. Overall Id probably agree with this list, though off the return Id say Federers edges it

I agree with the first and the second places. I also apreciate the back hand of Tommy Robredo, is very beautiful.

Glad to see Henin getting some appreciation in the comments. Her backhand was the best shot in the history of women's tennis.

Totally agreed with Stan being number one on this list. His single hander is unmatched in my opinion. Absolutely killer shot.

Almagro, Roberto, Haas, Kohlschreiber, all honourable mentions.

Almagro is number 1! When he recieved a high top spin cross court forehand from Nadal he wasn't bothered at all. Just hit a winner with his elegant one handed backhand.

That's a brave post! Obviously open to debate! Edberg, Henin, and me should also get a mention.

Carlos Costa had the best and most beautiful backhand I ever saw. I got to watch him at the Mexico open in person and I was hypnotized for hours watching him make a run to the final.

Where is Stefan Edberg? His backhand was simply perfect

Totally agreed about top 3 (I’m simply unfamiliar with 4 and 5). I think Djokovic saw Roger’s backhand as attackable, whereas on clay he avoided Stan’s rocket launcher to prevent winners flying past him

Stan, Gasquet, absolutely. Ive seen Gaudios backhand up close and jt was incredible. Almagro, Lendl, Edberg, Haas, Becker honorable mentions.
Big Fed fan but his backhand is a rung below Guga, especially on clay, Guga would eat him alive backhand to backhand.
