Proto Tech Tip - Why We Use Fillets

Every week, Team Protocase is bringing you a Proto Tech Tip video, where we'll give an informative look at a particular aspect of sheet metal fabrication and CNC Machining.

This week, Cody from our Engineering & Design Services team goes in-depth on the importance of using fillets for sheet metal and CNC parts.

A fillet is a rounded corner or edge that we put on our parts. These can act as aesthetic features, or perform as safety features. The most important use of a fillet on sheet metal parts is undoubtedly to break sharp edges.

Your parts go through a lot of stations and hands here at Protocase, and this is just one simple way that we can increase the safety of everybody involved.
