You got your direct lines mixed up. The Pendolino was first introduced on the existing Helsinki-Turku line in 1995 after it was modernised with parts upgraded for 200 km/h. The 220 km/h line opened in 2006 was the Kerava-Lahti direct line, the Helsinki-Turku direct line is still in planning.

Small correction: 'pendulum' is Latin, not Italian. Italian, Spanish, Romanian, Portuguese and indeed French all derive from it, one way or another.

You can find the same type Pendolino also in Slovenia, then in Slovakia (on the route from Košice to Prague) and the Czech Republic you can find a newer version which is very comfortable and renewed, and then at last, you can find very fast and very modern Pendolinos in Poland.

Actually, the tilting system has been turned off from all Pendolino units due to problems and complications in maintenance.

the new front coupler is ugly. i read vr plans to use the sm6 allegro as inland trains, are there any news on this?

The tilting tech was brought by FAIT from British Railways APT project.
