Should Christians anoint their homes with oil to ward off evil spirits or sickness causing demons? Well, a bunch of looney false teachers masquerading as Christian YouTubers certainly seem to think you should. The practice of warding off evil spirits is nothing more than pagan superstition. It's practiced by false religions and it's a form of witchcraft. There is nothing in the bible that teaches this kind of superstition nonsense.

The "church" I attended used to make us do this. We had prayer walks and went about anointing peoples post boxes, gates, fences and even rocks and trees, praying God would change lives, defeat demons, blah, blah, blah. Nothing changed except we came back oily and sticky.

I can understand this but I also know what we as a family experienced in our home when we moved in. It’s an older home, built in the late 70’s and we are the 4th family to live here. Before we moved the contractor that we hired, who was also a friend said that there was something weird going on because he heard someone yelling at him and he was alone in the house the time.
My daughter was scared in her room, she was 15 at the time. And it got worse and worse, Even her dog was afraid.
I can only speak for what we experienced. I know it was a familiar spirit and I know it was masculine. It had something to do with the original owner/builder of the house.
We prayed and told it to leave in the Name of Jesus and it really didn’t want to go. It’s been over 5 years now and it has never returned. I know there will be skeptics but I know what we experienced.

I have converted from Islam to Christianity and especially at my beginnings when I was new in the faith I was watching many youtube videos to understand things better or understand the Bible better. I was so confused with so many things and false teachings (anointing your home, tithing, generational curses etc)

I live in Germany and not many people are believers here so YouTube was my „go to“ until I found you and two other people who teach similar things like you, I was so lost. I don’t believe just random things you say or in general what others preach in the internet but you are the only person every time I look up things in the Bible myself that actually used biblical teaching.

I have nothing against anointing with oil, but I think it is God answering the accompanying prayers that produces any real benefit. Anointing is more of a symbol of setting apart for holy use. Is the home really set apart for holy use? If so, the anointing is just a symbol of that.

Like any physical act, it can be a dangerous superstition if we trust in the physical act itself rather than the Lord honoring the acompanying prayer and heart intent behind the physical act. But I wouldn't be too quick to judge the prayer and the heart intent behind the physical act of anointing with oil any more than I would be quick to judge fasting, praying out loud, giving, water baptism, raising hands in worship, etc.

AND GULLIBLE as a NEW Believer in something so awesome as being part of an
Evangelical Christian
Church and I 100% was actively participating and practicing these and many other types of RITUALS…
Now 20 years later (now) I see everything SOOO
Different and as one matures and finds TRUTH as for myself, I see now how many lies I was taught by ELDERS, PILLARS
