If the chargeport was in the middle of the nose (like Zoe, Mg5), the issue is not as bad. However, In the video it looks like you could get close to the right side of the "charging bay line" and it might just reach. It shows that cables that are just a bit longer would massively help with this.

I agree with most people here, make the charging cables longer, about 2 to 3 times. Tesla has so much potential to be the largest charging service in Europe, other brands like Ionity/Fastned/Shell are rolling out too slow and have too little stalls.

Why is the charging port on the right side wrong?
Here in Germany for example, road side parking and charging at street lanterns is in the making.
And since we drive on the right side, we also park on the right side with the nose of the vehicle in traffic direction ( on many roads this is mandetory).
And when i park, and the charge port would not be on the right side, i would not be able to charge easily.
So why do you say, that the charging port should be on the left side?

At the 2nd location you could use the charger from the other side the gravel parking space

It might be as easy as redrawing the parking lines, either one foot or so to the right or slanted parking.

I wish the Electric car industry would get its act together and standardize the location of charge points for ALL vehicles; this would surely eliminate this problem. If not, then government legislation should step in.

I drive an Ioniq Electric and charge port is on left hand rear. That was lucky!!
Loving your videos Bjørn.

You should make a small video like this for all EVs. Love your videos!

Backside parking, then charging

So you may leave the parking slot after finishing charging with full sight to the road.
Had you ever seen a nosecharger leaving backwards without sight to left or right?
The backwards parking bevore charging is the saver way

For those particular chargers you could drive around the road behind them and charge. At least then you’re only taking up one charging spot and not two.

In the back in site on the second location, pull around the other side on the gravel where the rv is and charge on that site on what ever stall you need without affecting parking on the side everyone else is using.

just use the space behind the super charger (at 9:29 in your video) to park the car; maybe you‘re blocking the trail somehow, but it could work

Just park over the line a little bit, it's fine, the next car can also adjust slightly

Thank you, uncle Bjørn ! Another problem is when you have a small garage (like I do) and you park your car very near to the right side, so you can open your driver's door on the left (I live in France, not in the UK) and get out... but if your car has a charge port on the right, you cannot access it ! I really don't understand why car makers choose to configure the charge port this way. I have a Kia eniro, so my charge port is in front and I won't be ABLE to buy another electric car if it doesn't have a charge port in front or on the left, that's a fact !

Ah and also the new supercharger alignment how the new locations are constructed will work for cars with charging ports rear left and front right / or middle(ish) right. All the others will block 2 stalls at the same time. At the new locationif there is enough parking space there is one stall at the end with a reserved parking spot on the left and the right from the stall.

👍👍 Love the demonstration!! Interesting to see though that most stalls are not fully occupied,

Björn, you should create a T-Shirt with "The chargeport should be on the left side, which is the right side" :-) I would instabuy

Maybe its better to use the most right stall for cars with a nose charger butt also cars with charge Port on right side behind like my id3 😀, I parket car if possible outside the parkingspot and I will not occupied 2 places, so everybody happy👍

I used it several times in the netherlands 🇳🇱✌️🇳🇴

For cars in right-hand driving countries it's best to have the port on the front right. For left-hand driving countries front left
