I don't understand the one scene where Mr Harrison was knocking down a sign that listed Colored Ladies Room, which was supposedly a "half mile away". Since there were many other employees watching him do this it had to have been in the building where they all worked. If so, he should have been knocking down a sign in that building that read "White Ladies Room" (only) so that both black and whites could use it. Am I the only one that sees this as a flaw?

And why was the scene added? Because the whole story about the coloured bathrooms being so far away was added to bring the point across regarding segregation. It was a good way, imo, even if it wasn't entirely historically accurate.

In the old Winston Salem Coliseum, if you looked at the bathroom doors at the right angle, you could see that they had been labeled "Colored" and "White". The labels had been painted over many times.

I knew as soon as I saw that it didn't really happen. In my mind, it just couldn't have, sadly.
Still a great scene. It definitely had the intended effect all the same.

They didn’t mean it didn’t happen it never played out like the movie did obviously lol but the sign came down all the same
