After the OneCoin’s current leader Konstantin Ignatov was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport on a wire fraud conspiracy charge and his older sister (and Founder of OneCoin) Ruja Ignatova was charged with wire fraud, securities fraud, and money laundering by the FBI and IRS, Bulgarian media exploded.

How could this happen? Didn’t people know OneCoin was a scam? Is OneCoin really a scam? Is Ruja a genius or a crook? What is the difference between OneCoin and an actual cryptocurrency? How can Gosho from Chervena Mogila know the difference? Aren’t all cryptocurrencies scams?

In the next edition of the Sofia Crypto Meetup series of events, we will try to reply to all these questions and more. In an expert panel discussion, we will discuss the questions that people must ask before putting their life savings in something that they don’t understand. We will also look at the reasons behind the US authorities indictments of OneCoin’s leaders and come to some useful conclusions on how to identify scams.

Since betahaus is moving to a new location that does not feature an event space just yet, we are moving the SCM events to Puzl (for now). We will also have to organize this event on a Friday, which is not ideal to say the least, but will happen only this time. We have reserved the usual Wednesdays for next moths.

Here is the schedule:

- 19:30 – Biggest News in March by Ivan Fartunov
- 19:45 – Panel Discussion: Identifying Scams
- 20:15 – Networking and Drinks

The presentation will be in English. There is no entrance fee or need to register. Limited space.
