I have a mx5 nc and sometime I feel like you when I use it everyday for boring stuff... I sometimes force myself to go out and experience it on small twisty road and then it comes alive ! It's such a fun car on the back road, when you don't have to go anywhere and the only thing you have to worry about is the next corner !

Hi Rick, I have the same car, 2006 soft top with 2.0L engine amd 6speed manual geatbox. It is such a joy to use this car. My car has the same milage as yours, around 172k right now but next week I'm gonna go to a long journey to south Europe which will be around 10k. I hope my car wouldn't let me down :) but it has always been a pretty reliable car as you mentioned. As a daily driver it is not the best car for sure but whenever I drive it, I get rid of all of my problems. It is my second car, the daily driver one is a Corolla, which is also a reliable car but not as much as fun with the Miata:) greetings from Germany

I think a good thing would be to have a second car as a daily if one can afford it. Could be something cheap, perhaps a car with a six cylinder engine orianted towards comfort. Then when driving the Mx-5 it would feel really sporty and special. But when driven every day one gets used to it, , adjusts etc
