Rotten stage is the end stage of ripening state and releases more ethylene at this stage as compared to a ripened fruit. Also, ethylene is in gaseous state so it is easily distributed to the other fruits and make them rot as well. Hence Solved.

a rotten fruit releases ethylene in gaseous form and when exposed to healthy fruit, the gaseous ethylene speeds up the process of ripening which'll eventually make the healthy fruit rotten as well!!

Homework question :
One orange spoil the other oranges in the fruit basket, because if there is one orange that is rotten (basically it will rot because of present of ethylene )than it will provide ethylene for other oranges, and hence there will be atmosphere of ethylene near the oranges and they will rot.

Homework question:
Because If the rotting orange is mixed in close vicinity to other oranges, the good orange can absorb oxy ethylene or ethene(C2H4) gases as these are growth inhibitors and begin to rot, them too. Hence, "An orange can Rotten the entire basket of the oranges".
