We would see these all the time in Hemet back in the early 70's. My Grandmother lived there at the time, so one day on our way to the rodeo we saw a pretty large one in a field. As a young teenager I thought it would be a super great idea to run into idea! Just as I was about 10 feet from it, suddenly it turned right into me. The dirt, dust and tiny rocks hit me at such speed that once it passed, my brother ran over, called me stupid, and said look at all the blood spots on your face. Well, Mom said I was not the smarter one of the litter.

Why is this newsworthy? I've lived in the area for over 30 years and these happen all the time.
