A video of an ostentatious marriage proposal involving more than 20 super cars spectacularly backfiring has gone viral.

The clip - captured in Shenzhen, southern China - shows Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s and Bentley’s forming a motorcade and driving to a shop in the city.

Once at the retail store - reportedly owned by Peng Yang, a recent contestant on a Chinese dating show called “If You Are The One” - the man gets down on one knee with a bunch of flowers and begins proposing.

And as a horde of onlookers gather - many with their mobile phones out recording the incident - the blushing bride-to-be bluntly begins rejecting him.
