There's two full videos of the execution - one colorized and the other black and white original. More than half of the man's head was gone. Probably every member of the firing squad had real bullets.

His legs "did not fail". The day of his capture he had a car accident and machine gun fire broke one of his femurs.

It looks gruesome but he is dead way long before any reaction or action could be felt by the nervous system.

Much of what was said in this video is not accurate. I actually saw an original filming of the execution. The firing squad was instructed to shoot at his torso, but one of the soldiers shot at his head causing a 4 to 5 inch piece of his skull to explode in mid air. Now for the inaccuracies. The execution of 333 originally, now 335 communist partisans and political sympathizers is true, but ask yourselves WHY? Well, what spurred the Chief of Police to seek retribution was the death of 40 fascist soldiers, some Italian and most Germans. The Italian and German soldiers were ambushed at night and many were shot in the back execution style. He who wins the war writes the history, sometimes accurately and sometimes not so accurately.

There was a movie made about this massacre with Richard Burton and Marcello Mostriano(spelling?) I can't remember the name but it is about how they selected people, I believe some people were randomingly taken off the street. It was a very disturbing movie.
