Wildly enthusiastic about Ballerina tulip here in US Zone 5b as well! Just planted it last fall, and it came up this spring in pots, garden beds, and garden border absolutely beautifully and for weeks on end. They started mid-season and are among the last to finish for me. Colors are amazing, blending with everything and elegant peach and pink on their own. Shape - unparalled, curvaceous tulip gorgeousness. When open in the vase, people wondered if if was a lily, even. Not shy, not loud, just perfection. It’s lovely to hear about their longevity, Alexandra!

I have had some tulips for three decades or more. They are very simple single tulips which flower every year without fail. This year some of them have turned dark purple - simply stunning!

Where I live we have deer 🦌 In other words…NO 🌷tulips
Unless you cage them.
The deer decapitate them like a desert nibble the day before they bloom😖😫😤

I will try and remember that one. I read that viridiflora tulips are reliably perennial so I planted some this year. They look good at the moment, I'll let you know if any come back next spring!!

I don’t plant bulbs in my garden because when I was little, my mom had me dig up all of the bulbs in the garden every 3 years. Digging up your bulbs every few years, to separate and replant them keeps them blooming. I hated having to do this so no bulbs for me.
