It’s insane that gpu prices are touching car mod prices. Headers or a 4080 super hmmm. Brakes or a 4060ti super. Cams and manifold or a 4090

Amoung several other reasons, the Nvidia plug is a big reason why I went from a 1080Ti to a 7900XTX

Soon we will have computers attached to our GPU's and our GPU's plugged into the wall.

"16pin connector is an industry standard"
while no other GPU manufacturer uses it 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Looks like rtx 4070 will be my last nvidia upgrade ever. No amount of raytracing is worth potentially burning down my house.

Imagine being so pig headed, instead of admitting a 12pin connector was wrong, and 2x 8 pins was right, you make a 16pin and force it on everyone as "the new standard".

The 16 pin was a really unnecessary change for nvidia's lower end cards. There's no reason a 150-300W GPU should have a 600W connector. As if the 12 pin wasn't annoying enough.

That connector requirement burns me up!

Man those future 50 series cards are looking fire and I don’t mean that figuratively.

Everything's £ucked nowadays days.
False information everywhere.
People are fake as never before.
Greed everywhere you look.
And it's only gonna get worse.

8 years ago a 1080Ti was $700
Now 2 Grand for a 4090, that's not even that impressive compared to its own price.
The world is the real Hell

I just bought a full am5 set, figured I didn't want to wait a year for the x3d version and the 7800x3d is fantastic.

After all the BS surrounding this new connector, I now straight up refuse to use it on principle. My newest rig uses an AMD graphics card, and if Nvidia insists on doubling down on this thing, my next graphics card will also be AMD or Intel. And likely the one after that.

Nvidia has shown repeatedly that they don't care about the average gamer. Fortunately, there are alternatives. My last two builds are AMD, and I bought an ARC A750 LE just to support Intel's GPU department. It'll end up in my homelab server eventually.

Who can explain to me, how corsair and other psu manufacturers can use two 8-pin cables to the 12vpwr conector and support 600w... why we can put the same dual 8-pin connector on the GPU side and stop this non sense pci5.0 connector

I speculate that the "16-pin connector" is in reference to the 2x6 pin connector as it and its earlier revision have 4 additional pins for data, totaling 16 pins

I think Nvidia should leave that decision up to the AIB's given how problematic the current connector is for melting (don't want to see a repeat of this connection mess). The AIB should be free to choose, unless Nvidia is going to cover problems of melted connectors themselves.

Given Nvidia is sticking to pins - I *HOPE* that the next is well engineered - like perhaps (one of many idea's) the connector from the PSU side will have full width locks down each of the narrow sides to lock on securely and that connector is ever so slightly convex and designed to buckle in the middle and force full pin contact through out the connection (the card side would still be flat meaning the PSU side connector would have to warp under the pressure from the sides to get fully seated)...

Interesting move with Zen 5C - looking forward on seeing how this hybrid will work out. 🙂

“Oh man I sure hope that when the 5000 series releases itll decrease the price of the other series”

Why don't our high wattage video cards have nice, big, bolted power and ground wires with crimped on eyelets like we see on car stereo amplifiers? Power supplied to our house's breaker box. Power to our car's starters. This isn't very smart, just keep using little pins because we only use little pins because we use little pins.

The 3050 6GB is basically a gtx1650super with a 30% lower TDP and DLSS.
