Since nobody else is mentioning it, the world that never was is a world in Kingdom Hearts 2. The music there is immaculate so I am glad they at least pulled a version of it for the track. Interesting that they mashed it together with the layout of thunder city

28:27 Hi Troy! This last track is based off of Cave Story! It's an older retro-style game that was available in the Wii Shop and on other devices, and it was always one of my favorites to play. The original game is still available on PC and I highly recommend trying it out!

Kinda surprised no one has mentioned it, but thunder city (the world that never was) is also an obvious homage to kingdom hearts 2. The city is made to look pretty similar to that world in the game. Even the song is a pretty sick remix of "sacred moon", a track that plays in that world in particular. I'm actually kinda amazed, it's such a cool looking track

Bioluminescent Lab is incredibly made I’m friends with the creator and the mini map is just a texture so there is no true minimap. Track is goated thanks for the upload!

Also I’d like to add The Castle of Broken Promises was slated to be added to CTGP last year, but the creator decided to pull his tracks, he plans to resubmit Alone and Incomplete, Gallant Grotto, Phendrana Frostbite, and The Castle of Broken Promises GOAT


Thunder City is the same as BigOto2’s original with different visuals and a bit of an upscale, I really hope Fuffina submits it to CTGP because it is really fun and the cuts are fairly balanced too.

Back then when I was a kid playing MKwii I was always wondering if there will be one day more tracks on it somehow.

As a longtime player, i loved you realizing in the moment the recreation of Thunder City. I feel like some of those older CTGP tracks are so iconic, and still fairly well designed. I'd kill to see more remakes similar to Bowser Jrs Fort

Bioluminescent Lab's sudden lap 3 layout changed reminds me of Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed since most of its tracks change layouts after a lap is finished

The CTGP-7 version of Painted Swamp Raceway uses Cap Kingdom as its music for some reason, and has extra boost panels inside some pipes.
The seamlands looks cool too.
