Because the prosecutions KNOWS they overcharged this case. They also know there is no way to prove Rittenhouse was NOT ACTING in self defense beyond a reasonable doubt after several witnesses and videos clearly show he was. Even the star witness for the prosecution (Grosskreutz) said he was shot because he pointed his gun at Rittenhouse FIRST! He said that. Not Rittenhouse.
