When Richard Madden was 10, his grandfather died. Unsupervised at the funeral, he watched Shallow Grave and Taxi Driver. Both movies were extreme to say the least, but as he explains in the Vulture Emmys lounge, Madden is always looking for a new experience: “I always look for something different. Whether it’s me being in the Bodyguard and quite serious and playing a father, to the Elton John film where I’m a villain and singing and dancing; I try to mix it up as best I can.”
