The building is an old government building from plantage slavery times. That's why there's no elevator as they don't try to change the building. They do renovate and maintain the aesthetic.

Incredible. My holiday let is 35€ per night WITH warm water and good beds. And that for up to 4 adults. Warm water, airco’s and a large functional kitchen.
These hotels are just too expensive

is this suriname? when I lived there for 7 years we had no hot water, only cold water but why need hot water in that heat anyway? we were lucky if we had water at all, water pressure was horrible, we often cought rainwater in big tubs
