RIP, gone too soon! What a legend. I still remember rooting for him to set the Red Sox all time Win record. He fell just shy of Cy Young and Roger Clemens. We'll miss you, Tim!

I was so infatuated with this team as a kid, Garciaparra, Wakefield, Nixon, Millar, Ramirez, Martinez, Ortiz, Damon, Giambi, Varitek. They awakened a deep love for the game in a young man that had no real connection with Baseball up to that point. Thank you boys!

4:30 that's me holding up Wake's jersey behind the dugout at his 200th W! I was lucky enough to get a game ball and he autographed it a few years later at a premiere of the Knuckleball! documentary. Ive had the opportunity to meet Wake a few times, amazing dude...unlike some other players I've encountered...

Had to come watch this after hearing the news. I was a huge Sox fan during that run. Loved watching that knuckler dance around. Rest easy!

this guy is pure class. his involvement with the redsox foundation and other humanatrium projects he is truly a hall of famer in life as a man and sure enough as ball player. the way he talks about others is refreshing especially this day and age when the news makes you think we all hate eachother. pure class

The last great knuckleballer. Hope to see more of them eventually. Best pitch in baseball. Rest east Tim. Thanks for helping me love the game.

I never worried about Wakefield's ERA. He was in the rotation to eat innings and reat the pen. He did his job well.

I loved watching Wake pitch, especially when Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy were calling the game.

Tim Wakefield got me back into watching the Sox.
I was born and raised on Yaz, Fisk, Lynn and Evans but by my late 20's had fallen out of following the 'Boys of Summer'. Plus they had broken my heard in '78 and '86.
Then in '95 I happen to be channel surfing... and I see this dude pitching mad dancing flutterballs.
I got back on the bandwagon, and was rewarded in less than a decade.

Ohh ya... did I mention, I've been rewarded 3 times since then... and the latest is just as sweet as the first!
Thanks Tim, for your crazy mad knuckler that brought me back into 'The Faith of Tessie.

Guy looks like the chillest dude. Like I probably could be doing absolutely nothing and still have a good time if he were around.

Knuckleball has always been my favorite pitch. A pitch so effective even the pitcher doesn't know where it's going.
