Sea Ray Mercruiser 4.3 acceleration POV with Mercury high five propeller

Here is a little acceleration video of our sea ray 185 on our trip to Kea island in Greece.

In 1991 we had a 19' open bow Mariah with a 4.3 v6 205hp Mercruiser. Stock it came with a 3 blade aluminum prop. We had two boys 4 and 9 years old. We had to get up almost 20mph to get on plane pulling those two on tubes. When going flat out and make a sharp turn the rear of the boat would drop and the nose of the boat would raise way up and lose about half our speed.. The same thing would happen pulling the boys on tubes.

I wasn't comfortable going that fast with a 4 year old . So we got a Highfive prop. Let me tell you, that boat was a completely different animal. I could get up on plane at 12mph pulling the boys, top speed before was 46mph now it's 52mph. Handling was like it was on rails, I mean hold on or you might get tossed out. Hole shots seemed to almost launch us out of the water (it sure felt like it). We eventually sold the boat but I kept the propeller just in case we got another boat.
