Listen - The Clash (guitar cover)

Mick's guitar tone is just heaven to my ears on this very early, (first), Clash track. I love his outro solo which unfortunately gets cut short on the Super Black Market Clash version. The OG version also had interviews with the band that were intermittently panned in and out during the song. You real Clash fans know what I'm talkin' bout.

One of The Clash's few instrumental tracks (another being their cover of Booker T. & the M.G.'s "Time Is Tight"), "Listen" was one of the first songs ever written by The Clash, and featured as the set opener at their first ever show in July 1976. Singer Joe Strummer tells a story in the Westway to the World documentary that bassist Paul Simonon was so nervous that he completely messed up the bass intro to the song, while Simonon himself admits, "I just wanted to jump around a bit!"

Cheers Wyatt, if you could do the Deny outro as Mick played it that would be fantastic as I LOVE it.Your version was amazing but more Joe's rhythm stuff.I'm sure you know this but Joe (God rest his soul) was actually left handed and that's why his rhythm style was so unique.Keep up the wicked work! You are the spirit of Punk reborn!!!

This song appears on the "Red China" LP, (1984) with the interview in it! I love that record, the recording of 1977 is sounds so rough and awesome.
