Άγιος Χριστοφόρος Αγρινίου (Παλαιός) Saint Christoforos Agrinio (Old)

Πρόκειται για ναό της προεπαναστατικής εποχής π αρχικά ήταν μετόχι της Μονής Προυσσού και βρίσκεται στην ανατολική πλευρά της πόλης του Αγρινίου.Η τύχη του στα γεγονότα της Επανάστασης δεν είναι γνωστή. Πάντως μετεπαναστατικά, στον ίδιο χώρο και προφανώς πάνω στα υπολείμματα της παλαιάς, κτίστηκε η σημερινή εκκλησία,που ως το 1937 που εγκαινιάστηκε ο νέος ναός του Αγίου αποτελούσε τον ενοριακό ναό της ομώνυμης συνοικίας.
Σύμφωνα με μια μαρτυρία, ο ναός ιδρύθηκε το 1846. Επίσης, πάνω από τη δυτική θύρα του ναού, στην πρόσθια πλευρά του καμπαναριού, αναγράφεται η χρονολογία 1849 ενω κατά τα αρχεία ο ναός ανυψωθηκε ως ενορια το 1866. Φαίνεται ότι το καμπαναριό και ο ναός είναι σύγχρονη κατασκευή, επομένως το 1849 πρέπει να ληφθεί ως και η χρονολογία περάτωσης του κύριου ναού και ανέγερσης του καμπαναριού. Άρα ο ναός κτίστηκε μεταξύ 1846-1849. Πανηγυρίζει,τέλος, στις 9 Μαΐου όπως κι ο νέος ναός του Αγίου

It is a church of the pre-revolutionary era, originally part of the Proussos Monastery and is located on the east side of the city of Agrinio. Its fate in the events of the Revolution is not known. However, after the revolution, in the same area and obviously on the remains of the old one, the current church was built, which until 1937, when the new church of the Saint was inaugurated, was the parish church of the homonymous district.According to a testimony, the church was founded in 1846.
