Smooth Skin - Fast & Easy Face Retouching in Photoshop

This is a fast and easy tutorial on how to smooth skin and face retouch in Photoshop. The Surface Blur filter is one of the best ways to skin smoothing. You can use low settings or high settings to remove blemish, acne, scars, etc.

I use Photoshop CC for this tutorial.

Many tutorials use similar methods but this might be my favorite. It's swift, clean, not overdone or hyper stylized, allowing you to keep a realistic texture to the skin you're editing instead of making a "perfect idea of skin" look. I dislike when edits take a person's skin texture and morph it into a smooth android like texture. Unless the situation calls for that, I always air on "enhancing" my client's personal features- especially their own skin's texture.
