It is a common practice for parents and grandparents to complain about the time our children and grandchildren spend on video games. Instead of complaining let's do something about it.

*** Make something with your grandchild (child) today ***

This video outlines 4 different maker skills (we used to call these DIY skills) that anyone can learn by just watching youtube videos and practicing. It outlines how you can create your own maker space (shop) for under $100 to a bit more than $500 depending on the things you want to make and the tools you already own.

The following times will help you navigate the video.

1:37 How to use Youtube to learn new things
5:41 How to Turn a Pen on a lathe. Anyone can learn this.
8:40 Getting Started with 3d Printing
12:14 Getting Started with Electronics and Computer Automation
21:07 Woodworking Safely with a Child

Learn how to turn pens, 3d print useful accessories, models and toys, get started with electronics and use woodworking tools with a child safely.

Let's make this interactive and please leave me comments of things you have made with a child and suggestions for future videos.
