I saw this coming just like you said years ago with the expansion of Nato. Russia kept saying and warning the Western alliance but they didn't want to listen. Russia is only protecting its borders and has the right to do so. Russia was pushed into this war with Ukraine. When will the world wake up and see this for what it is. You’re absolutely right, this has nothing to do with ideology (communism etc.) or sympathy for Ukrainians. Russia (Russian Empire, USSR) has been attacked under any possible premise for the last few centuries. At this point Russophobia has become a part of British culture and most Brits feel perplexed when I call them out on it. I studied in the UK and have a lot of British “friends” - literally not a single one of them has checked in with me after the full scale war in Ukraine started despite knowing that my family is from Donbass, specifically because they knew I was anti Ukrainian government.

The reality of the matter is far from the United States’ (US) narrative that the Russian Federation, without any provocation, militarily invaded Ukraine. The fact of the matter is that the US and her allies have been wanting a war with Russia for the past 100 years! The US and the West are only, at best, about 20%, and, therefore, are not the majority of the international community. Actually, the world considers the US as the biggest threat to peace! The majority of nations want a new multipolar world in order to live in a real democracy. Western “democracy” is imperialism.
