To show how great the heavyweight division was in the 1970s look at George Foreman. George wasn't even the best heavyweight of the 70's but he came back after a 10 year layoff to bulldozer his way through the 20 something young turks to become heavyweight champion at 45. Something no one did before or since and in my book that make George Foreman the all time greatest heavyweight.

at least he is honest about why he stepped back into the ring. i prefer a honest mans answer even if its money to a lie.

As a side note, those were the exact same boxing trunks he wore from when he lost to Muhammad Ali to when he defeated Michael Moorer for the title! How ironic!

I wanted him to do so well when he came back, but I recall thinking he was just gonna be a tomato can in the ring.
Ol' George is smarter than I ever was.

What a fascinating character, Big George is. And so many riveting stories to share. Unlike so many retired boxers, Big George has done well after he left the sport.

clearly one of the top persons and inspiration to all on the planet. Who would have dreamed this person is the same person against ali? nobody. But he did what he did and cannot come up with a temp control on the foreman grill that he is now not connected with. George do what must be done and enter negotiations to put a temp knob on that grill.

Keep in mind he won back the tiltle against a brilliant young fighter. Thats an important point to make, another is that he predidcted the knockout.

Sure, a nice guy, but one of the most deadly punchers who ever existed. Make no mistake, you get in a ring with Foreman, forget the Jesus stuff, he will beat you senseless.

This is one time I haven't respected George when he said that he wasn't going to talk religion on TV, to me as a minister of 43 years my savior JESUS CHRIST is number one, and my life if I don't brag on him who should I brag on for HE saved my soul, and my whole being, and deserves all praise!!! JESUS should be noted as life, not religion!!!
