i knew from the INSTANT the video started that i was in for a masterpiece and you nailed it in every single conceivable way. this is one of the best homestuck fanworks of the last decade and i'm not joking. MAJOR kudos

The surreality is able to perfectly underscore the complete and sudden rupture, the nonsense, which is Mom's death, just as it is represented in-story with eldritch gibberish and pitch black darkness.
And the ridiculous walk Scratch does... In the comic itself, one can rather easily have the impression that he is something of a neutral figure, but here he is so visibly despicable and manipulative, swooping in to catch his prey.
It is such a vivid depiction of the moment, and entirely recontextualises the components of the original video.
