"I'm not going to bribe him. He's just going to have to learn to put that muzzle on" best line

Props to the owner for coming to you for help! You can tell he wants whats best for his dog.🙌

Piss on anyone who can’t understand that in order to help this dog, the trainers and handlers have to make him uncomfortable. He either gets stressed and a sore neck or euthanasia eventually down the road when everyone else gives up on him. Props to you guys for putting content like this out there for others to see.

Waking up to a Shield K9 video always makes my day. Such a truly, truly great team of canine handlers led by the most honest and sincere man I have ever met.

Beautiful to see.. I could see the dog body language clearly de-escalating and begin to show relaxation and pride in itself for a job well done.. He actually looked happy with himself at the end!!

Nice to see trainers who know what they are doing. Border collies need leadership and some will take advantage of weakness in humans and start dictating the terms. Great video .

"They've never really learned to deal with that in their own lives." "
Absolutely based.
Great stuff guys.

We, as humans, learn not to touch a hot stove, sometimes by experiencing a burn. A dog has to learn as well. Life is not always rosy and ALL of us get corrected one way or another. I think ur team did a good job with him. Keep up the good work!👍👍👍

Thank you! Just now muzzle training my overprotective (not aggressive) German Shepard 1yo. I needed this cause a lot of videos put the dog in control of way more than I'm comfortable with.

Absolutely 💯 correct approach! Looking good, efficient, less stressful overall for the doggo & moving forward in a timely manner! Love your common sense approach!

1:42 "Pressure is a spectrum" I really like that pocket of nuance there. A lot of people (trainers owners etc) tend to miss this part

Thank you so much for this vid. I need a muzzle for my 3.5 yr old GSD to go the vet. My girl is a very reactive wonderful companion but doesn’t trust strangers, especially strangers who poke her with a needle. I am learning so much watching your videos. Thanks again.

Good video. My border collie mix was perfectly well conditioned to muzzle for 3 years until he suddenly decided to reject it so I was hoping to see more of the dog resulting to aggression. At least I now have a new approach to try.

EDIT: The results actually surprised me. I tried to reintriduce the muzzle through meals over two days and when I tried to actually clip it on, my dog would pull back quick and bit me. I tried this technique and after one long fight my dog switched to avoidance and then I could get the muzzle on and hand feed him. Just two days later - after getting all his meals associated with the muzzle - I could even drop the leash while putting the muzzle on. And my dog actually follows after me when I grab it. He's accepting it so much easier than he ever did with 100% positive conditioning. I hate using strangling techniques but can't deny that it was the only way to gain control in this situation.

Perfectly done. And I really appreciate you showing this in real life, as this kind of thing is hard to witness firsthand.

Thank you so much for your videos! My Basenji male is optionally aggressive and is very give or take when told to do something he doesn’t want to do. Pressure and no options is the ONLY thing that has worked and has drastically improved his behavior and understanding of the hierarchy in our family. He is not food motivated at all and will stand his ground which is what they are known to do. Pressure works and people give us crazy looks when we give our dog a stern tone or make him comply before moving forward no matter where we are. This has been incredibly reassuring. There are many trainers out there but your philosophies I relate to most especially for hunting breeds.

I really needed this video. I will be muzzle training my large mix breed dog as soon as I have the money saved up to get it, hopefully by next month. He only has a few small issues that we can normally manage but sometimes we aren't in normal situations.

Great to see common sense, functional understanding of problem solving with behaviors that many find challenging. Great work! Keep up the valuable work with your channel. This dog will ultimately be happier and less stressed long term once he learns to follow basic, fair and reasonable rules. Great work! Keep up the valuable work with your channel.
