Guys, this is NOT BoxyPixel's shell! I showed off the BoxyPixel shell for comparison but this shell is made by "Retro Tetra Station" and is largely a cheap (but not inexpensive) clone of BoxyPixel's.

Well RIP, I had made the order for this shell the day before this video came out. I ordered it because the seller mentioned "FR_LOCAL_DHL_EU" in the shipping and I figured I could avoid getting bent by customs, totalling at 153$ vs 170€ + 25% VAT/customs, only for the seller to send it from China via 4PX. If the customs catch it, I'll just tell them to return the package and ask the seller for a refund.

If that doesn't happen, hopefully my unit won't be as crappy with the fitment/cartridge wear.

I just got an SP a few days ago and I’m thinking of getting this shell and screen to mod it into the unhinged version. My thing is I like to mod it with the USB-C charging port but I have zero experience with soldering. Is there someone I can send it to do that kind of work if I get the part from Boxy Pixel?

Can you still buy ur slate? Would rather have it. Just got to find an sp cheap enough that works to rebuild. They seem to be one of the more expensive models. The poco is prob the best looking GB imo. But the Slate or unhinged is prob the more practical version since can play alot more systems.

I have a GBA SP with this shell and it works fine for me. Volume is not as stiff as yours and my charging port didn't get bent. I'm using laminated IPS.

The metal is clean but wish someone made a quality plastic shell. And non a ruff 3d printed one. Not sure how someone would do it but the unhinged makes me think it would be cool if someone made a psp go style gba sp. Where the screen slid up and down. Not nessary other than to make it fit in a pocket but would just be a cool design. Yea people don't relize machining and manufacturing cases can be super expensive unless you already have a full fledge business making such products and even then you would have to stop manufacturing something else to make a neish product which isn't always financially possible. You see this alot in the itx pc and high end keep world. Although now alot more companies have gotten evolved to the prices are alot more affordable for decent cases unlike it used to be made on a much smaller scale.

Man serious question, those little clamps you have to hold things while you solder, where could I possibly buy some, or what's the name of them, I've been searching the web high and low and can't find any similar to yours
