My critique of the best low-carb research in the eyes of Dr. Eenfeldt continues, here shifting to low-carb diet trials. Before we look at them, I'll show you how to tell whether a low-carb trial was intended to be fair and informative or if it was just meant to prop up the animal food industry. You'll see what sort of low standards and dishonest tactics must be exploited to make low carb seem healthy.

The entire collection is stupendously awesome; twinkling gems of outstanding quality.

Yes, well I am 100% sure these videos are excellent source for those that haven't gone off the deep end, yet.

Thanks for watching!

Not publicly. He knows they are out there now. The people I go after are hoping these videos will not be noticed.

i cannot believe that the NEJM published a study like that (_Weight Loss with a Low-Carbohydrate, Mediterranean, or Low-Fat Diet_)... at least the reviewers would have had to change the title of the study... anyway it seems even in my country (Italy) there are some cholesterol confusionists even in the medical community, it's not a surprise but i will work on it someday...

I forwarded these videos to Eenfedlt. He replied and told me he is honored. I am sure he won't mind sharing these videos on his website.

Having known several obese and morbidly obese individuals, one recurring pattern I see is that they are entirely unwilling to change their eating habits by even the smallest "healthier" substitutions, even something so small as "when you use mayonaise, use less of it". So I can imagine scientists running diet intervention trials on obese people cant fully expect the obese people to strictly follow even the slightest bit of advice.

The A to Z researchers published a followup study looking at micronutrient status in the participants. The Atkins group was deficient in thiamine, folic acid, vitamin C, magnesium, and most surprisingly, iron. The Ornish group was deficient in vitamins E and B-12, and zinc. So neither diet can be considered optimal from a micronutrient standpoint.

I would take the Ornish diet, add a B12 supplement, and some additional nuts, seeds, and avocados, and whaddayaknow, it looks like my own diet :)

This section of your new series was outstanding. The people running these obesity trials are clearly working with low standards and a limited amount of knowledge. If only they could watch these videos for some sobering criticisms.

Thanks for the question. Message me if you're serious. At the moment this would be premature.

Thanks again for your interest in helping this gain attention. This morning I posted Swedish translations on my site (plantpositive), just under the English scripts for each of the four videos. The comment below by mikaeledebro prompted me to do that. Yes, if you have the time and if you don't mind, I'd very much appreciate you proofreading them for me. Thanks! Message me at plantpositive @ gmail if you like.

Low carb diets are a good example of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Yes, there are obviously certain carbohydrates which are lethal- sugar and white flour namely- but you shouldn't go from eating that to eating bacon and eggs all day long. You should replace sugar and white flour with low glycemic carbohydrates like fruit, yams, rolled oats, brown rice, and quinoa.

Thank you for doing such a great job! Has Eenfeldt reacted to your videos in any way?

Thanks. That makes sense. It happened way too fast.

I skimmed those comments. Yes, they're too far gone to contemplate that they've been wrong all along. I didn't see one substantial criticism. Typical.

I laughed a lot at Eenfeldts forum comments as well. The folk there are just like those who are members of obscure religious sects spreading creationism. Very little is to be done to help out these people. .

Hey, thank you for doing that! I am reading through it now. It's always amazing to me how resistant to new information low carbers are. The excuses they make are childish. But this gives me the idea to use Google Translate to create a Swedish version of my scripts. Perhaps you could link them to my site once I have that up. Thanks again!

Thanks for doing that! What else is he going to say? That he's been wrong all along?

Someone promptly marked this as spam. Good grief.
