how to equip and use survival items in Apex Legends

so how do you quickly equip survival items like Heat shields , Spawners and Evac Towers in Apex Legends while using controller ? Well by default its turned off so ....
1 hold start to go to settings
2 select controller settings
3 Navigate down to " Survival Slot Button " and turn it ON
4 now to use any survival item ( from inventory ) just push and hold Left on the digital pad on the Controller
