IF I ONLY TOUCH HIS CLOAK

MATTHEW 9 :18-26

In this nine verses we find Christ healing twice. The woman with the issue of blood is healed first. Christ happens to pass by her, on his way to heal the centurion’s daughter. A woman of great faith by all standards; because the law was against what she was doing.
Leviticus 15:19-23 The Message “When a woman has a discharge of blood, the impurity of her menstrual period lasts seven days. Anyone who touches her is unclean until evening. Everything on which she lies or sits during her period is unclean.

But in Verse 21 She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”
If we do but touch the hem of Christ's garment by living faith, our worst evils will be healed; there is no other real cure. We need not fear his knowing things which are a grief and burden to us, but which we would not tell to any earthly friend.

When Christ entered the ruler's house, he orders everyone to leave. Sometimes, when the sorrow of the world prevails, it is difficult for Christ and his comforts to enter. The ruler's daughter was really dead, but not so to Christ. The death of the righteous is in a special manner to be looked on as only a sleep. The words and works of Christ may not at first be understood, but neither can they be despised. Those who laugh with contempt at what they do not understand, are not proper witnesses of the wonderful works of Christ.

For dead souls to be raised to spiritual life, Christ must take them by the hand. You can give your hand to Jesus today. By Christ's raising one dead his fame, increased; Imagine what will be his glory when at the last trumpet, all that are in their graves shall hear his voice, and come forth; those that have done good to the resurrection of life, and those that have done evil to the resurrection of damnation!
