01:37: "This spot here" is the corner between the horizontal and vertical ruler.

To anyone who doesn't know:
If you click and drag WITHOUT holding ctrl/cmd, you can move the zero points of the rulers.
To reset: choose the white arrow tool and double click on the corner.

Pointless, why even upload this if most important part is cropped out of video?

OK working through this tutorial here. LOL The important thing here is that you are not selecting the artboard and then clicking properties... which seems like it would be the case. Unblock off the selected artboard, then click properties and you will see the document info + ruler and grids.

Excellent example of why it is indeed better to show than to tell.

well, if you have only one artboard. For Me I create Cd covers etc, booklets. And I have 8 pages of artboards. How I create of each one perfectly sliced to the middle horizontally only for example? I know I can write a number where a guide should be, but I need to calculate it on my own from all artboards. its already mathematics :D

The "spot" where he is dragging from is just the ruler space. So you hover your mouse over ANY portion of that ruler and then hit command or ctrl. There I've tried to improve upon this crappy tutorial.
