05:45 the fill is an perfect example of Lombardo's superiority. Not only a fast fill but creative in such a limited amount of space/time. Try to repeat it. It will take a lot longer than you think to nail it stroke for stroke, and for him it is instinctive. Hence his superiority

That was probably the biggest Lombardo's drum kit had ever got in the history of Slayer. they were at their commercial peak, as was the entire metal music industry. Compare that Terry Bozzio size kit to now, its more normal looking.

Back when this first came out, there was to be a full concert released on VHS. They professionally filmed 2 full shows, of which this segment is from. It kept being delayed and delayed then was eventually pulled. Never found out the reason why.

I'd give this life away just to be born 15-20 years before I was, I was barely 9 when this happened, peak Slayer when it comes to live performance, just freakin' wow. Feeling the same about this snippet of a show for a live video clip I found way back on Scour, some shortlived p2p program that came out after Napster was shutdown, I'd get all of my videos from there on my DSL back in 2000, 8mbps download, wow! lol The video was nowhere as good but the sound was the same, probably a hint at how epic this performance is.
