USACE installs blue roofs on over 90 apartment buildings in the New Orleans area
Показать описание
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers installed Blue Roofs on over 90 low-income apartment buildings at four sites in the New Orleans area. This was a special request approved through FEMA and the State of Louisiana and is equivalent to installing over 300 blue roofs on individual homes.
USACE Hurricane Ida Response Commander Col. Zachary Miller provides an update on the installation from one of the sites.
The USACE Operation Blue Roof program aims to provide homeowners in disaster areas with fiber-reinforced sheeting to cover their damaged roofs until permanent repairs are made. This program is a free service to homeowners and protects property, reduces temporary housing costs, and allows residents to remain in their homes while recovering from a storm. The deadline to apply for this service expired on Oct. 15.
