China Rejects Visit to Taiwan by US Congressional Delegation: Spokesman

China on Monday expressed firm opposition to certain U.S. politicians' attempt to distort, obscure and hollow out the one-China principle by paying new visit to the country's Taiwan region, saying such practices are doomed to fail.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin made the remarks at a regular press briefing in response to the visit to China's Taiwan region by a U.S. congressional delegation led by Massachusetts Democratic Senator Ed Markey on Sunday.
