Love the podcasts. I’ve been tying for some time and thought I’d share a couple of tips. When tying a new pattern I start out with with a bigger hook like a 10 and work my way down to like a 16, tying a half dozen of each size. Helps me get a sense/feel of the fly before it too small to see. Also if I’m tying a dozen or so of the same pattern, I like to have my materials out and already sized (ie hackle) so I don’t have to spend time on every fly finding the right feather. This works for a number of materials and can save you lots of time, making tying much less frustrating. I hope these tips are helpful for some your listeners. Thanks!

hello, I have only been fishing for about three months and i want to eventually get into tying onb a budget as well. What flies would you recommend are patterns that share materials so that I'm not stuck with material that is only used for one fly.

Yo ventures your vids have helped me a lot with tying my own flies but I ordered the beginner fly tying kit from you to go along with the master class series and it didn’t come with the grizzly or the brown dry fly hackle, I think my mom emailed you about it but idk if you saw lol, if you happen to see this comment can we figure something out please? I really wanna tie a parachute adams and all the other dries. Thx

Dose anyone out there demagnetize the hook? I had to pick up a cheep demagnetizer to prevent my tools from sticking to hooks as I try to sort them out when choosing a hook.

Lost that fish 🐟 because you “cranked that drag down” past what that tippet could handle? Just a thought.
